Guitar Chords and Rhythm

Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012

Rhythm guitar is often the backbone of many pieces of music and can make a huge impact to the feel of the song cheap coach purses , especially when played well. It is however often overlooked by many guitar players just how to make that rhythm playing cut through the piece of music and really stand out … in a word, it’s muting coach outlet , probably the most under-practiced technique among many many guitarists. One of the problems when playing chords on the guitar is there’s a lot of notes ringing out together and if you aren’t careful then these notes will end up becoming so noisy that they effectively cancel out a large part of the rhythm itself. For some songs this isn’t a problem and it works well but when it’s not a required effect then it’s time to sit back and take a critical listen to what’s going on because it can be the difference between something sounding fantastic or just plain messy.
Rhythm is about dynamics and silence is a very important part of that dynamic. If everything is played at one continuous level then there’s no dynamic, therefore there’s no rhythm so when you are playing chords on the guitar as a rhythm guitarists then this silence becomes as important as the strumming. Muting is how we create the silence or quiet parts between the beats of the music. Muting a guitar chord is usually done by releasing the tension in the fretting hand or by bringing the palm into contact with the strings with the strumming hand or a combination of both. Chord playing is all about this technique and can change the effect drastically. Chord muting is just as important as chord playing. How much time do we guitarists spend practicing this technique? I don’t know the exact answer but I do know it’s nowhere near as much as we should. If the answer to this question is not a lot then spend some time practicing your chord muting cheap coach purses , you’ll improve your playing very noticeably.

Thursday, February 16th, 2012

Christian heavy metal is a type of heavy metal that describes, not a genre or sub-set of classic heavy metal, but a mix of all types of metal that contain Christian lyrics and themes. It came into existence in the late 1970’s, gained massive popularity during the 1980’s, went underground in the 1990’s and has finally been revived in the 2000’s.
Christian Heavy Metal, also called “white metal”, is a cross-genre term. While most people think that Christian metal has a milder or softer style, it actually covers all extremes in the industry, from pop metal to doom/death metal and everything in between. The one common factor to all styles is the lyrics.

Christian Metal was first criticized by secular music fans and, then, as it gained more popularity, it was also criticized by Christian fundamentalists. In the aftermath, many new bands from around the world began to rise up and gained the attention of major record labels.
Unfortunately, many churches were still opposed to the Christian heavy metal genre and rejected the groups participation in their church services. A group, called Sanctuary, was started in 1984 as a “rock and roll refuge” for metal fans and musicians. It brought people together, nationwide, in the first Christian Metal Festival in 1987. Sanctuary metal festivals spread to dozens of locations and had a significant impact on new groups to the genre. For example, P.O.D. performed their first concerts in Sanctuary. Sanctuary finally closed its doors in the late 1990’s when it believed that the Christian metal genre had finally gained enough widespread acceptance.
Christian Metal groups insanity workout dvd sale , just like secular metal, went underground during the 1990’s. The scene was fairly quiet until the 2000’s. As the heavy metal movement revival began, new Christian groups emerged such as P.O.D. and Underoath. P.O.D. became the most successful band when their 2001 album went multi-platinum, gaining mainstream secular acceptance. Christian metal, although no longer called “white metal”, continues to grow in popularity and acceptance, in both the secular and Christian sectors.

MIDI Controller Keyboard – Apt for Recording using Soft-Synths!

Tuesday, January 24th, 2012

A midi controller keyboard does not have a sound generating module in it and is used only for sending midi messages to external software / hardware.
So how is it useful if it cannot generate sounds on its own? It is useful if you have a predominantly software based recording setup. If you use a software sequencer for sequencing the tracks, and if all your instrument sounds are generated using soft-synths and VSTs, then you only need a controller keyboard. You just have to connect the keyboard controller to a computer or a laptop, which will have all the necessary software programs
There is no need for you to go in for a full fledged digital keyboard. A midi controller keyboard will be able to send all the performance related messages to the software programs. The controller keyboard will send midi messages to capture all of the performance related parameters. It can send messages which indicate which note is to be played, how hard or soft it is to be played, any effect like pitch bend or modulation was used, etc. Some keyboard models will also have knobs, and sliders in addition to pitch bend and modulation wheels, so that you can easily add effects.
You will find controller keyboards that have less than 61 keys as well. Many users actually record one track at a time, so they really do not need sixty-one keys since they will not use both the hands together. Besides, a smaller controller keyboard will take less space as well. A smaller keyboard will help you easily demonstrate your recording capability to others. Whenever required, just dump your laptop, soundcard and the MIDI controller keyboard in a bag and carry your portable recording studio with you.
